If you enjoy Lost (which, assuming that you're reading this, you probably do)--then why not try some of creator JJ Abrams other works? In this feature, we'll be taking a quick look at some of the films and TV shows created by JJ.
To start things off, we'll be looking at Alias, another ABC sci-fi series created by J.J. Abrams, directed by regular Lost director Jack Bender and starring Jennifer Garner.
Garner plays Sydney Bristow, an agent contracted by the CIA to carry out missions. A secret she hides from her friends and family as she quickly learns the concequences of sharing her secret identify.
The show ran from 2001 to 2006, with a total of 105 episodes and 5 seasons produced.
Things to look out for
As as often the case with J.J.'s work, there are many interesting cross-overs and allusions made between his works. Alias is no exception.
Nom nom nom
Remember the Oceanic 815 pilot, played by Greg Grunberg? His cameo in Lost can likely be attributed to the relationship he had on Alias with J.J. and
Locke!
Okay, well he's actually Assistant Director of FBI 'Kendell' in Alias, but it's fun to pretend nonetheless.
Slusho
The first of some regular J.J. abrams fictional universe brands. It'll be making it's appearances in a few other things later in our feature.
Oceanic 815
In the season four episode 'A Clean Conscience', over the PA system at LAX a boarding call for "Oceanic flight to Sydney" can be heard, an obvious allusion to flight 815.
That sounds familiar
Both shows share Michael Giacchino as composer of the respective original soundtracks. J.J. often uses Giacchino for his projects, and it's obvious why. We'll be taking a little closer look at Giacchino in the articles to come.
You all, everybody!
Driveshaft makes a special appearance in season four. 'You all everybody' can be heard playing in the background at Eric's birthday party.
